The plot relates the incidents within an international agency (Spectrum), whose mission is to stop the Martians' revenge attempt, who will use various strategies to defeat the Earthlings.There the first small group of humans, led by Captain Black, mistakenly believes that the inhabitants of the red planet are hostile, and they open fire on one of their cities. Then they watch in amazement as that totally destroyed city is rebuilt in a matter of seconds. Martians, who apparently have a disembodied existence, declare war on the inhabitants of the earth. "For this - according to the aliens declare - one of you (for the humans who caused the destruction of the Martian city), will play an important role in the revenge of the Martians." Captain Black becomes the hands and body that Martians choose for such a mission.
The main character, Captain Scarlet, was a victim of the Martians who seized his body and used it to try to assassinate the President of the World, but without success. After suffering a fatal accident, when falling from a tower, Captain Scarlet is no longer under the influence and control of the Martians, but acquires the ability of these to rebuild after suffering injuries or accidents, which represents a vital resource for Spectrum that now has a loyal agent who is also indestructible just like the Martians.
